247Security Joins Transfinder Market Place

Alpharetta, GA – Nov. 1, 2016 – A week after announcing the launch of its Marketplace, a one-stop-shop for schools seeking solutions to enhance efficiency and safety within their transportation departments, Transfinder has announced 247Security Inc. as a new partner

“We are pleased to have our first camera integration with 247Security,” said Antonio Civitella, Transfinder’s president and CEO. “247Security’s live streaming and historical videos now integrate with Transfinder systems.”

247Security, based in Alpharetta, Georgia, is a leading provider and manufacturer of mobile digital video recording equipment, security cameras and GPS data management applications. 247Security’s products integrate seamlessly with Transfinder’s technology.

“This partnership between Transfinder and 247Security makes better use of our technology and services,” said Quang Nguyen, 247Security’s CEO and CTO. “Transfinder’s products enhance the value of our product offerings, such as historical videos, live streaming and GPS. Transfinder’s Routefinder Pro, combined with our GPS and video solutions makes our products come alive in a more useful way for our customers.”

For example, by marrying Transfinder’s bus planning tools with 247 security video, district personnel can quickly respond to incidents by identifying the students who are assigned at a bus stop with the actual students via the video feed.

“We can provide the video of every bus stop. Every stop can be viewed and analyzed. We can see how many get on the bus live,” Nguyen said.

The key areas 247Security specializes in include:

  • Live streaming
  • Live GPS (that integrates with Transfinder’s Viewfinder to determine how accurate a planned route is compared with an actual bus route to build better plans)
  • Historical videos (archives) for incident reconstruction, inside and outside the bus including stop arm infractions
  • Determining vehicle utilization (are buses full or underutilized)

Transfinder’s Marketplace highlights “best in class” vendors such as 247Security that have been vetted by Transfinder and the market in a number of areas, including camera technology.

“This is big for us,” said Robert Scott, 247Security’s Vice President. “This partnership combines two technologies and takes camera technology to a whole new level that hasn’t been available in the school transportation industry. We see this partnership as a very significant move into the future.”

Transfinder created the Marketplace as school districts’ needs have become more complex and sophisticated. The Marketplace gives schools and municipalities choices from among top-tier service providers that integrate with Transfinder’s technology.

“Interest in the Marketplace is growing,” said Civitella. “We are hearing from both service providers wanting to be included in the Marketplace and clients interested in learning about the options they have when picking solutions that complement what they currently own. 247Security is a perfect example of the types of partners we are looking to engage with.”

Transfinder and 247Security development teams have created an amazing interface with 247Security and Transfinder technology which now allows our customers the ability to leverage our combined technologies at a whole new level.

“Robert Scott states, ‘Our partnership with Transfinder shows the school bus industry our continuing desire to create new and advanced video and planning solutions designed specifically for the school bus industry.’

247 Endorses NTSB Resolutions H-15-2 & H-15-3

We at 247Security task ourselves to be pioneers in paving the way for improving the safety of pupil transportation. At the recent 2015 National Congress on School Transportation, the following Resolution was passed;

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has worked with the sponsoring Associations of the NCST over the years in promoting safety within the School Bus Industry.

Whereas:  On March 3, 2015 they issued the following Safety Recommendation to the sponsoring Associations of NCST ( NAPT, NSTA, and NASDPTS) as well as the American Bus Association, the United Motor Coach Association, American Trucking Association, and the American Public Transportation Association.

To: Encourage your members to ensure that any onboard video system in their vehicles provides visibility of the driver and each occupant seating location, visibility forward of the vehicle, optimized frame rate, and low light recording capability. (H-15-2)

Be it further resolved: That the NCST adopt this Resolution on May 20,2015 for the purpose of providing important data for accident investigations to enhance the safety of our school bus operations.

The NTSB recommendations were directed at involved parties to meet stricter criteria to further improve school bus safety through the use of more comprehensive onboard video security systems. As industry leaders we strive to meet and exceed safety standards set out by State and National organizations. In accordance with the new NTSB Recommendations, as well as the endorsement of the 2015 NCST:

We at 247Security resolve to continue to provide on-board video systems that provide visibility of the driver and of each occupant seating location, visibility forward of the vehicle, optimized frame rate, and low light recording capability. (H-15-2)

We further commit to develop and provide written guidance for the initial installation and long-term maintenance of onboard video systems, and distribute that guidance on our website and user manuals. (H-15-2)

Wireless Video Surveillance: A Capital Idea

Wireless Video Surveillance: A Capital Idea
by Art Gissendaner

While the consensus in the student transportation industry is that wireless is the future of school bus video surveillance, experts say the interest in wireless systems is increasing faster than the capital school districts need to buy them. They also caution transportation officials to be sure of their needs before shopping for a surveillance system, and to never leave home without their information technology (IT) specialist.

Commenting on this article in Student Transportation News, 247Security’s Robert Scott, V.P. Sales and Marketing stated,

"This is a great article in STN bringing the reality of wireless video management in school busing to the forefront. As our customers in Sumpter, FL and Washoe, NV confirm, 247Security wireless solution TouchDown™ is the next level of video management bringing video and GPS together right at your office desk. It is a time and money saver, the next generation of video management. If we take exception with anything in the article it is that we believe wireless fits in all school bus operations, regardless of size. It is an obvious benefit in large operations, but my experience is that managers and their staffs, in small operations, are very busy people wearing many hats! Anything that saves time and money fits!

If we can offer any advice when looking at wireless options, it’s ask a lot of questions. Can the system talk with many vehicles at once? Can it actually download video files, how long does that take? Can the system operate, downloading data long after the buses are shut down for the night. Best approach is to get a live demonstration!

TouchDown™ is in operation in many districts across the country and we will be happy to describe, in detail, all that it can do for you."
